Splendid and spotted garden eels at the Vancouver Aquarium

A goby among the garden eels

Both the splendid and the spotted garden eels at the Vancouver Aquarium are interesting to watch. Whenever a fish or in this case a goby comes near them, they will retreat into their holes – sometimes partially, sometimes entirely, depending on how near the fish swims by. Only some time later they will poke their heads out of their holes again. Watching them is definitely fun.
